Aylings in the Subsidies (tax collections) for the county of Sussex: 1296, 1327,

I have clipped out all references to “Ayling” in the documents, including variations of the name. These records are probably one of the earliest of the Ayling family name. The records show the Rape as well as the village (in French) in which the person lived. The two numbers following each name are the amount paid in “s=shillings” and “d=penny” in that order.
